Details of experience
As mentioned above the hospital could not support my birth requirements.
I had planned to birth on water however I was only ‘allowed’ to labour in water. They pushed being induced before 40 weeks. They wanted continuous monitoring. I did not. They wanted to do cervical exams. I did not. They wanted me to have a saline lock. I did not. They didn’t encourage birth plans as ‘anything can happen’. Although they offer their version of continuity of midwifery care it is OB lead and they can not guarantee the midwife you ‘know’ will be there for birth.
Cairns Private. I freebirthed at 41 weeks. Precipitous birth.
