Details of experience

My homebirth was everything I could have asked for. I am a doula, so I went into birth knowing well the chances of labour going any way on the day and I was open to transferring to hospital for support if needed, I had already booked in at my local hospital and had a bag packed etc. My birth plan was to treat labour as an ordinary bodily function, to create an environment conducive to feeling safe and unhindered, and to go with the process as it unfolded. I had a 7 hour, uncomplicated, transformative experience of birth and am very happy with the hands off care I received from local homebirth midwife. I am pregnant again now and hoping for a similar birth in the Tweed Coast now- let’s see how we go!
