Details of experience

We felt so supported throughout my entire pregnancy by our beautiful midwife and doula. The birthing suites don't feel too clinical, and the huge bath was amazing for a water birth.

I had a few issues with the obstetrician who oversees the program not agreeing that I was 'low risk', due to a previous instrumental birth. In saying that, she was open to a respectful discussion where I was able to advocate for myself, and I felt fully supported by my midwife when doing so.

My baby was born in the water into a beautiful and calm environment and we stayed at the hospital for 4-5 hours post-birth before heading home.

Our midwife visited us at home over the next few weeks and it was just such a beautiful and supportive start to being a mother of two.

Not a homebirth - but homebirth just wasn't affordable this time around, and this experience was a happy medium for us.
