Model of care

Midwifery clinic (pub. hosp.)

Why did you choose this model of care?

What were your choices for this birth?

How did your birth start?

Spontaneous labour (started naturally)

What were your outcomes?

Staff I didn't know attending me, Birth support team of my choice, Water immersion for labour, Vaginal birth, Breastfeeding difficulties

Details of experience

I had a very straight forward vaginal birth. Everything was physiological except managed 3rd stage of labour which I do wonder if it contributed to breastfeeding difficulties (which were resolved after hiring a lactation consultant)
I had no issues, except it would have been way more preferable to have had a known midwife throughout. I didn’t know anyone that was at my birth.
